Uppsatsens syfte är att studera huruvida den litterära användningen av olika skiljetecken skiljer sig mellan italienska och svenska. Fyra böcker har jämförts och resultatet visar en betydligt högre frekvens av komma, kolon och semikolon i de italienska texterna.
