The immunomodulatory properties of C-Med 100 an extract of the plant Uncaria tomentosa

Den ospecifika delen består av hud, slemhinnor, magsyra och olika celler som snabbt tar sig till etExtracts from the bark of the vine Uncaria tomentosa have anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antimutagenic and antioxidant effects. In this study, we evaluate the effects of an Uncaria tomentosa extract, denoted C-Med 100, on the cellular level of the immune system both in vivo and in vitro. Our results indicated that lymphocytes had significantly prolonged half life after in vivo supplementation with

Digital forensic investigations: a new frontier for Informing Systems

Digital forensic investigators experience a need for support in their everyday struggle to overcome boundary problems associated with cyber crime inves-tigations. Traditional methods are socio-culturally and physically localised and dependent on strict and historically prescriptive political management. The new internet-worked cyber-world creates unprecedented difficulties for digital forensic inv

Accessibility in practise with a focus on older pedestrians

Accessibility throughout society has been gaining interest at the international as well as the national level. According to Swedish legislation, public environments should be accessible to all citizens by the year 2010. This paper focuses on older pedestrians, and aims at investigating how accessibility is dealt with and carried out in the municipal process of traffic planning: “accessibility in p

Nutrient cycling in agroecosystems: nitrogen cycling in southern Sweden in the 1850s and two Tanzanian villages in the 1990s

OlikThis study presents a general model for analysing nutrient cycling in agroecosystems. The focus is on food production intensity, human carrying capacity, sustainability and efficiency. The model can be used on systems including different kinds of land uses, which makes it applicable for studies on different scales. Comparisons of all kinds of agroecosystems, independent of time and place, are made

A game model of logistics network management

In this paper, the author discusses the most common approaches to the supply chain problem. The author argues that they rest on static ideas while the supply chain network is better viewed as an ongoing activity for which the suggested methods are inappropriate. Hence, none of the popular methods has a suitable model of the problem. Instead he suggests infinite games as a computational model for t
