Building a map of the breast cancer proteome - Strategies to increase coverage
Aktiviteten hos dessa molekylAmongst the various –omics sciences, proteomics has the highest potential for functional characterization and consequently can contribute significantly to the field of cancer research. In particular, the focus of this thesis is on breast cancer. Alas, since state-of-the-art technologies cannot meet the complexity of upper eukaryotic proteomes, a complete resolution of clinical samples is still una

Time-domain Green dyadics for temporally dispersive, bi-isotropic media
Time-domain Green dyadics for linear, homogeneous, temporally dispersive bi-isotropic media are presented. Complex time-dependent electromagnetic field is introduced. Approximation to the complex field from an electric point dipole in an unbounded bi-isotropic medium with respect to the slowly varying components (second forerunner approximation) is obtained. Numerical examples are presented. Surfa

Strategies for Computing Switching Feedback Controllers
We consider the problem of computing suboptimal feedback switching controllers for discrete dynamical systems. The paper shows how to combine convex optimization techniques with relaxed dynamic programming. We apply the method to several problems that have been considered recently in the literature. A particularly interesting example is given by a DC-DC converter. The proposed algorithm has severa

On the cavity problem for the general linear medium in Electromagnetic Theory
In this paper we study the propagation problem of a time harmonic electromagnetic field inside a cavity filled with a generic bianisotropic medium. We define the concepts of eigenfrequencies and modes of the cavity and we propose a method to prove their existence and countability. We extend, in this respect, the theory for the isotropic, homogeneous, lossless cavity.

Personality traits, values, attitudes, and motivations underlying political ideology in Sweden and Italy: A comparison of three contemporary models
We tested three models of the underpinnings of political ideology, in Sweden and Italy, addressing: (1)political values, with underlying core values and traits, (2) right-wing authoritarianism and social dominance orientation, with underlying traits and worldviews, and (3) attitudes to change, equality, and the system, with underlying motivations.
New Seeds and Women's Welfare - The Case of NERICA Upland Rice and Labor Dynamics in Hoima District, Uganda
African women farmers do not always benefit from and are sometimes adversely affected by the introduction of new technologies, including high-yielding varieties and their often-associated improved management systems. This paper seeks to further this claim in the wake of what has been referred to as "the NERICA Revolution" in Uganda, by providing an illustration of the impact the introduction of NE
