Härdar och husgrunder : arkeologi i det samiska kulturlandskapet i Syd- och Mellansverige

This paper deals with the physical traces of Sámi past in southern and central Sweden. From the Norse sagas, and from archaeological sources, there is a manifold of evidence of Sámi–Norse interaction and of Sámi presence, and habitation in central and southern Scandinavia from the Late Iron Age to the Middle Ages. From the early modern period there are diverse written sources addressing Sámi habit

Industriarkeologi i norr : globala och lokala perspektiv på 1600-talets gruvindustri och industriarkeologi som arkeologisk erfarenhet

In Sweden, industrial archaeology has been of limited distention and has played a modest role. Instead the disciplines of ethnology, history and art history has been dominating studies concerning industrial material heritage. Archaeological studies of metal production have been widely successful, but the focus has been set on early metal making rather than studies of industrialization, industriali

Nano-elemental imaging reveals zinc and calcium redistribution in human sperm during capacitation and hyperactivation

Objective To characterize the redistribution patterns of zinc and calcium ions during human sperm capacitation and to investigate their roles in sperm maturation and fertilization. Design In vitro experimental study using synchrotron-based x-ray fluorescence microscopy and complementary immunohistochemistry to assess elemental changes during different capacitation stages at nanometric spatial reso

Time to suicide after psychiatric inpatient discharge : a nationwide Swedish survival analysis

BACKGROUND: The period immediately following psychiatric inpatient care is recognized as a time of elevated risk of suicide, yet little is known about factors that influence how soon suicide occurs after discharge.AIM: To examine the timing of suicide among persons after psychiatric discharge and identify sociodemographic and clinical factors associated with a shorter time to death by suicide.METH

Att backa in i framtiden

En stad är inte endast en fysisk bild av dess gator och hus. Vi människor har också en egen relation till en stad, ett slags djupare existentiellt förhållande. Därför finns heller inte en berättelse om staden, utan flera - samtida - och ofta djupt personliga.

Favored neutron excitations in superdeformed 147Gd

Four new superdeformed (SD) bands have been observed in 147Gd using the EUROGAM II spectrometer. By comparison with 146,148,149Gd SD bands, we use the effective alignment to assign excited band configurations, with the support of the Nilsson-Strutinsky cranking formalism. The effect of the crossing of the [642]5/2 and [651]1/2 neutron orbitals lying just below the magic N= 86 SD shell gap has been

Smooth termination of intruder bands in 10951Sb

Intruder rotational bands have been investigated to high frequency in 10951Sb. Five decoupled (ΔI=2) bands extending to rotational frequencies above 1.4 MeV/ℏ have been observed. At the highest frequencies, the script J sign(2) dynamic moments of inertia for four of these bands are seen to decrease steadily to unexpectedly low values, script J sign(2) ∼ 10 ℏ2 MeV-1. These four bands, which are int

GYMNASTICS AND THE PHILOSOPHY OF ANTI-PLANETARY PRACTICE

This is a paper about gymnastics and a primordial form of geological knowledge. It pursues an interpretation of gymnastics, broadly defined, as a philosophy that interrogates what the Earth is. The goal is to reconstruct the epistemic implications of gymnastic practice in order to understand the evolution of animal motility as a prototypical form of geological knowledge. Since gravity is a global

Isolated Totem-Pole PFC Integrated Buck Converter for Low-Voltage Energy Storage Applications

High efficiency, low total harmonic distortion (THD), and near-unity power factor are essential for low voltage battery charging systems to satisfy modern power quality requirements. In this study, an isolated totem-pole power factor correction (PFC) integrated buck converter has been designed and analyzed for low-voltage battery charging applications. The proposed topology combines a bridgeless t

Decreasing collectivity in smoothly terminating bands in the A ∼ 110 region

Lifetimes of states in two rotational bands in 108Sn and one in 109Sb have been determined using the Doppler shift attenuation method. The deduced quadrupole moments for the states are in excellent agreement with cranked Nilsson model predictions, which imply a gradual change in the nuclear shape from collective near-prolate at medium spin to noncollective oblate at high spin. This change results

Deformed intruder bands in [Formula Presented]

High-spin states in the odd-[Formula Presented] nucleus have been investigated with the [Formula Presented] reaction at 94 MeV using the Chalk River [Formula Presented] array. Three decoupled [Formula Presented] rotational bands extending to spins [Formula Presented] in the range [Formula Presented] have been identified and connected to known low-lying states. Experimental observations for the mos

Evidence for multiple band terminations in 102Pd

The level structure of 102Pd has been investigated using data collected with the Eurogam 2 array. Several cascades of γ-rays have been established up to high spins. Termination of rotational bands has been observed at Iπ = 28 - and 32 +, and tentatively at Iπ = 38+ and 42+. The nucleus 102Pd is the first case where rotational bands built on valence space configurations are followed from spin close

High-spin spectroscopy of [Formula Presented]Te

High-spin states in the nucleus [Formula Presented]Te have been studied with the reaction [Formula Presented]Ni[Formula Presented]Fe,[Formula Presented] at 236 MeV using an early implementation of the Gammasphere array. Three rotational bands extending to spins [Formula Presented] and excitation energies [Formula Presented] MeV have been identified and connected to known low-lying states. In the m

Band terminations in the doubly odd nucleus 102Rh

The level structure of 102Rh has been investigated using the EUROGAM Phase2 array. Bands observed up to high spins are discussed in terms of band terminations. 102Rh is the first doubly odd nucleus below Z = 50 in which band terminations are established.

Spin ∼ 60 ℏ in 156Dy : Competition between collective and terminating structures at very high-spin

The highest-spin discrete states (I ∼ 60 ℏ and Ex ∼ 30 MeV) in normal deformed nuclei have been observed in the rare-earth isotope 156Dy using the 124Sn(36S,4n) reaction in conjunction with the GAMMASPHERE spectrometer. The positive parity yrast sequence appears to evolve smoothly from a prolate (collective) towards an oblate (non-collective) shape, in contrast to the sudden shape change observed

Triaxial superdeformed bands in 86Zr

Four new superdeformed bands have been found in the nucleus 86Zr. The good agreement between experiment and configuration-dependent shell correction calculations suggests that three of the bands have triaxial superdeformed shapes. Such unique features in mass A ∼ 80 superdeformed bands have been predicted, but not observed experimentally until now. A fourth band in 86Zr is interesting due to a fai

High-spin states, particle-hole structure, and linked smooth terminating bands in doubly odd [Formula Presented]

Excited states in [Formula Presented] have been observed with the Stony Brook array of six Compton-suppressed HPGe detectors and the [Formula Presented] reaction at 60 MeV using a thick target. New excited states which decay solely towards the [Formula Presented] ns, [Formula Presented] isomer have been identified using time-correlated spectroscopy. The previously known level scheme has also been

Band structures and proton-neutron interactions in 174Ta

Six rotational bands in the odd-odd nucleus 174Ta have been populated with the 160Gd(19F,5n) reaction. High-spin states were identified using the NORDBALL array. Both signatures of the doubly decoupled π1/2- [541 ] ⊗ v1/2- [521] band and semi-decoupled π1/2- [541] ⊗ v7/2+ [633] band are observed, in addition to the high-K couplings of the π9/2- [514] ⊗ v7/2+ [633], π9/2- [514] ⊗ v5/2- [512], π7/2+
