Search for Dark Matter in events with missing transverse momentum and a Higgs boson decaying into bottom quarks with the ATLAS detector
Many astrophysical observations indicate the existence Dark Matter, which is not predicted by the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. Many theories beyond the Standard Model (BSM) predict new heavy particles called WIMPs (Weakly Interacting Massive Particles). One way to search for WIMP dark matter is through its pair-production in collider experiments. A possible signature, in this case, is

Impact of Sociodemographic Factors on Use of Formal Social Services in an Older Swedish Population
Background: In Sweden, societal support for older people is the responsibility of the municipalities. However, due to Sweden’s current aging-in-place policy for older people, there is a need to assess how the use of such services varies based on sociodemographic factors. The aim of this study was to describe the use of different forms of social services and institutional long-term care (ILTC) in a
Sociodemographic Variations in the Availability of Urban Green Spaces in an Older Swedish Population
Urban green spaces (UGS) can have a positive impact on health and thereby potentially ease the strain on the health care system. However, the availability and benefits seem to vary between different sociodemographic groups. The aim of this study was to investigate associations between sociodemographic factors and availability to UGS among people aged 65 years or older. Data on sociodemographic var
Visions of a City for All : Resources, Choices and Factors Supporting and Impeding Universal Design in the Urban Development Process
Despite laws, policies and visions to create cities and societies for all, barriers still exclude persons with disabilities from using buildings and public places. Our study aimed to identify choices made during the urban development process that include or exclude users in the built environment; how and when these choices arise during the process; and what is needed to implement universal design
Evaluating Transformation - what can we learn from the literature?
The last decade’s rise of the so-called “third frame” (or third generation) of Transformative Innovation Policies (TIP) has shifted focus of research and innovation investments from economic growth and competitiveness to also tackling societal challenges and generating broader environmental and societal impact. The evolution in rationale and aims for policy action also implies a need to adapt and The last decade’s rise of the so-called “third frame” (or third generation) of Transformative Innovation Policies (TIP) has shifted focus of research and innovation investments from economic growth and competitiveness to also tackling societal challenges and generating broader environmental and societal impact. Development of a Pelletron-based compact neutron source : At the Nuclear Applications Laboratory, Lund University
The Applied Nuclear Physics Group at Lund University is constructing a prototype CANS (Compact Accelerator-driven Neutron Source). The CANS is based around a 3 MV, single-ended, Pelletron accelerator, which is used to impinge a 2.8 MeV deuterium beam into a beryllium target. The anticipated neutron production will be on the order of 1010 n/s in 4π sr. A further upgrade to the ion source of the Pel

Factors associated with cervical cancer screening among women living with HIV in the Kilimanjaro region, northern Tanzania : A cross-sectional study
Despite cervical cancer being a highly preventable disease, it is the fourth most common cancer among women in both incidence and mortality. Cervical cancer screening is crucial in preventing the disease. Women living with HIV (WLHIV) are at higher risk of cervical cancer because of their immune-compromised state. We aimed to determine factors associated with cervical cancer screening among WLHIV
Income inequality and carbon emissions in the United States 1929–2019
This paper studies the relationship between income inequality and carbon emissions in the United States between 1929 and 2019. We contribute to the literature by considering how the relationship have varied over time. To this end we estimate a band spectrum regression model and a smooth-varying coefficients model. Our results show that higher inequality was associated with lower emissions during tThis paper studies the relationship between income inequality and carbon emissions in the United States between 1929 and 2019. We contribute to the literature by studying if and how the relationship has varied over time. To this end we estimate a band spectrum regression model and a smooth-varying coefficients model. Our results show that higher inequality was associated with lower emissions durin
