HPV73 in cervical cancer and distribution of HPV73 variants in cervical dysplasia

HPV73 is classified as possibly oncogenic and is not recognized by most commercial primary HPV screening platforms. The aim was to determine the prevalence of HPV73 among invasive cervical cancers, formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) samples (N = 69), from southern Sweden during 2009 to 2010. Another aim was to determine proportions of HPV73 among Aptima HPV assay negative cervical cancers (N

Evaluating the Risk of Digitalis Intoxication Associated With Concomitant Use of Dronedarone and Digoxin Using Real-World Data

Purpose: Dronedarone may increase digoxin plasma levels through inhibition of P-glycoprotein. Using real-world data, we evaluated the risk of digitalis intoxication in concomitant users of dronedarone and digoxin compared digoxin-alone users. Methods: We used the Clinformatics DataMart, a US claims database, to identify adult patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) or atrial flutter (AFL) who conco

Plasma proenkephalin A 119-159 and dipeptidyl peptidase 3 on admission after cardiac arrest help predict long-term neurological outcome

BACKGROUND: A large proportion of adult survivors of cardiac arrest have a poor neurological outcome. Guidelines recommend multimodal neuro-prognostication no earlier than 72-96 hours after cardiac arrest. There is great interest in earlier prognostic markers, including very early markers at admission. The novel blood biomarkers proenkephalin A 119-159 (penKid), bioactive adrenomedullin (bio-ADM)

SARS-CoV-2 vaccination modelling for safe surgery to save lives: data from an international prospective cohort study

Background: Preoperative SARS-CoV-2 vaccination could support safer elective surgery. Vaccine numbers are limited so this study aimed to inform their prioritization by modelling. Methods: The primary outcome was the number needed to vaccinate (NNV) to prevent one COVID-19-related death in 1 year. NNVs were based on postoperative SARS-CoV-2 rates and mortality in an international cohort study (surgi

When peace nations go to war: Examining the narrative transformation of Sweden and Norway in Afghanistan

What happens to dominant narratives and settled self-images of so-called peace nations when experiencing actual combat in out-of-area military missions? This question arises when studying the contemporary international engagement of small states that previously have mostly been engaged in peacekeeping with limited mandates and non-use of force restrictions. As today's international missions have a

Timing of surgery following SARS-CoV-2 infection:an international prospective cohort study

Peri-operative SARS-CoV-2 infection increases postoperative mortality. The aim of this study was to determine the optimal duration of planned delay before surgery in patients who have had SARS-CoV-2 infection. This international, multicentre, prospective cohort study included patients undergoing elective or emergency surgery during October 2020. Surgical patients with pre-operative SARS-CoV-2 infe

Participatory Sense-Making for Integration Practices and Policies

In this presentation, I continue previous work on extracting consequences for the design of integration policies from research on participatory sense-making in cognitive science. Participatory sense-making was introduced in cognitive science in the early 21st century. The idea, roughly, is that social understanding consists in mutually inclusive social face-to-face real-time participation in pursu

Environmental impact and costs of externalities of using urban consolidation centres : a 24-hour observation study with modelling in four scenarios

The literature presents a considerable number of practical experiences of urban consolidation centres (UCCs) and some estimates for vehicle reduction. Still, there is limited knowledge about the potential reduction of the environmental impact and the related externality costs. This paper evaluates the environmental impacts of consolidation in four scenarios of different consolidation set-ups. It a

Oppositional voting in the Council of the EU between 2010 and 2019: Evidence for differentiated politicisation

This article presents a new and previously unchartered dataset on roll call votes for all 28 member states in the Council of the EU between 2010 and 2019 and studies the effects of politicisation on governments' oppositional voting in the different policy areas. We contribute to the literature with two main findings. First, our study provides strong evidence for bottom-up politicisation, where Eur

A multisite analysis of the concordance between visual image interpretation and quantitative analysis of [18F]flutemetamol amyloid PET images

Background: [18F]flutemetamol PET scanning provides information on brain amyloid load and has been approved for routine clinical use based upon visual interpretation as either negative (equating to none or sparse amyloid plaques) or amyloid positive (equating to moderate or frequent plaques). Quantitation is however fundamental to the practice of nuclear medicine and hence can be used to supplemen

A Philosophical Review of School Nursing Framed by the Holistic Nursing Theory of Barbara Dossey

This article is a philosophical review of school nursing and its constructs framed by Barbara Dossey’s holistic nursing theory. The author describes the application of holistic nursing theory within the school nurse’s area of activity. The review suggests that holistic nursing theory can be applied in several areas of school nursing. School nurses have a multifaceted occupation that includes meeti

Structure-activity relationships for analogues of (Z)-5-decenyl acetate, a sex pheromone component of the turnip moth, Agrotis segetum : Synthesis and conformational analysis

Structure-activity relationships for 28 analogues of (Z)-5-decenyl acetate, a sex pheromone component of the turnip moth Agrotis segetum, have been studied.Synthesis and conformational analysis of chain-elongated, chain-shortened, alkyne, alkenyne, diene and cyclic analogues, and configurational isomers are presented.A conformational-energy model for the interaction of a pheromone component with i

Neonatal hyperglycaemia is associated with worse neurodevelopmental outcomes in extremely preterm infants

Objective: To assess the associations between neonatal hyperglycaemia and insulin treatment, versus long-Term neurodevelopmental outcomes in children born extremely preterm. Design and setting: Observational national cohort study (Extremely Preterm Infants in Sweden Study) using prospectively and retrospectively collected data. Neurodevelopmental assessment was performed at 6.5 years of age. Patie

A global approach to long-term follow-up of targeted and immune-based therapy in childhood and adolescence

While considerable efforts and progress in our understanding of the long-term toxicities of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy in children with cancer have been made over the last 5 decades, there continues to be a wide gap in our knowledge of the long-term health impact of most novel targeted and immunotherapy agents. To address this gap, ACCELERATE, a multi-stakeholder collaboration of clinical

Aerobic exercise for adolescent outpatients with persistent major depression : Feasibility and acceptability of moderate to vigorous group exercise in a clinically referred sample

Aims: To assess feasibility and acceptability of exercise in clinically referred adolescents with major depression. Methods: Outpatients12 to 17 years with mild to moderate persistent depression participated in a supervised, pulse monitored, 14-week aerobic exercise but without control group. Primary outcome was adherence and secondary was clinician-rated Quick Inventory of Depressive Symptomatolo

III-V Nanowire MOSFETs : RF-Properties and Applications

III-V MOSFETs provide improved electrostatic control at scaled gate lengths combined with a considerable reduction in gate leakage current. Following the natural transistor evolution, we investigate vertical III-V nanowire MOSFETs and fabricate MOSFETs with gm>3 S/mm integrated on Si substrates. Careful investigations of the dynamic properties show high MSG-value of 14.5 dB at 20 GHz with a small-

U-Pb baddeleyite age for the Ottfjället Dyke Swarm, central Scandinavian Caledonides : new constraints on Ediacaran opening of the Iapetus Ocean and glaciations on Baltica

The Ottfjället Dyke Swarm (ODS) is a prominent component of the Ediacaran mafic magmatism associated with opening of the Iapetus ocean, and hosted in the Särv Nappe, Middle Allochthon of the Scandinavian Caledonides. A U-Pb baddeleyite age of 596.3 ± 1.5 Ma for a thick, well preserved, plagioclase-phyric dolerite dyke in Härjedalen, Sweden, dates emplacement of the swarm. The age represents a robu

Latitudinal clines in sexual selection, sexual size dimorphism and sex-specific genetic dispersal during a poleward range expansion

Range expansions can be shaped by sex differences in behaviours and other phenotypic traits affecting dispersal and reproduction. Here, we investigate sex differences in morphology, behaviour and genomic population differentiation along a climate-mediated range expansion in the common bluetail damselfly (Ischnura elegans) in northern Europe. We sampled 65 sites along a 583-km gradient spanning the
