Simple Tests for Cointegration in Dependent Panels with Structural Breaks

This paper develops a very simple test for the null hypothesis of no cointegration in panel data. The test is general enough to allow for heteroskedastic and serially correlated errors, unit-specific time trends, cross-sectional dependence and unknown structural breaks in both the intercept and slope of the cointegrated regression, which may be located at different dates for different units. The l

Resource abundance and public finances in five peripheral economies, 1850s–1930s

The resource curse literature has established that taxation of natural resources might limit the long-term development of fiscal capacity in resource-rich countries. This article explores if, and how, natural resource abundance generates fiscal dependence on natural resource revenues. We compare five peripheral economies of Latin America (Bolivia, Chile, Peru) and Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden) over

Light (anti)nuclei production in Pb-Pb collisions at sNN =5.02 TeV

The measurement of the production of deuterons, tritons and He3 and their antiparticles in Pb-Pb collisions at sNN=5.02TeV is presented in this article. The measurements are carried out at midrapidity (|y|< 0.5) as a function of collision centrality using the ALICE detector. The pT-integrated yields, the coalescence parameters and the ratios to protons and antiprotons are reported and compared wit

From top to deep: An integrated multidisciplinary approach for the study of a transformative landscape of Savatra ancient city

In this study, a combined workflow of computational methodologies is introduced to explore the transformative landscape of the ancient city of Savatra (Central Anatolia Region, Türkiye), which faces long-term risks stemming from natural and anthropogenic threats. Emphasis was placed on regional and local scale landscape analysis, employing aerial and ground-based remote-sensing techniques to unrav

D5.3: Data Collected from Case Study Sites : WP5 Case studies

Deliverable D5.3 "Data Collected from Case Study Sites" is the final deliverable in WP5 "Demonstration Case Studies". After Deliverable D5.1 "Description of Case Study Sites" and Deliverable D5.2 "WATERAGRI Solution Test Findings", this third deliverable in WP5 describes the main findings from testing WATERAGRI solutions at the Case Study sites. Deliverable D5.3 is linked to Milestone M12 "WATERAG

Wear behaviour of PVD (Ti,Si)N-(Ti,Al)N coated cemented carbide in down milling pearlitic compacted graphite iron

Compacted graphite iron (CGI) is an intermediate material between conventional grey cast iron and the stronger, more wear resistant ductile iron, making it a suitable material choice for different automotive applications. The improved material properties of CGI as to conventional grey cast iron makes it more difficult to machine, and finding a suitable tool material with low wear rates is a challe

Role of TCF7L2 risk variant and dietary fibre intake on incident type 2 diabetes.

AIMS/HYPOTHESIS: The T allele of transcription factor 7-like 2 gene variant, TCF7L2 rs7903146, increases the risk of type 2 diabetes by 40-50%. As TCF7L2 rs7903146 has been associated with diminished incretin effect we investigated whether interaction between dietary intake of carbohydrate, fat, protein or fibre and this variant affects the risk of type 2 diabetes. METHODS: A cohort of 24,799

The 2015 IWGDF guidance documents on prevention and management of foot problems in diabetes: development of an evidence-based global consensus.

Foot problems complicating diabetes are a source of major patient suffering and societal costs. Investing in evidence-based, internationally appropriate diabetic foot care guidance is likely among the most cost-effective forms of healthcare expenditure, provided it is goal-focused and properly implemented. The International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF) has been publishing and updatin

The human periodontal ligament cell: a fibroblast-like cell acting as an immune cell.

J Periodont Res 2010; doi: 10.1111/j.1600-0765.2010.01331.x. © 2010 John Wiley & Sons A/S Background: Periodontal ligament cells are fibroblast-like cells characterized by collagen production but also possessing some osteoblastic features. In the light of numerous

Self-rated health among very old people in European countries : An explorative study in Latvia and Sweden

Objectives: To explore and gain insight into factors related to self-rated health (SRH) among very old people in two European countries. Methods: The study was based on Latvian (n = 301) and Swedish (n = 397) data from the baseline of the Enabling Autonomy, Participation, and Well-Being in Old Age: The Home Environment as a Determinant for Healthy Ageing Survey Study. Besides descriptive statistic

Search for lepton flavour violation in ep collisions at HERA

A search for the lepton flavour violating processes ep→μX and ep→τX is performed with the H1 experiment at HERA. Final states with a muon or tau and a hadronic jet are searched for in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 66.5 pb-1 for e+p collisions and 13.7 pb-1 for e-p collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 319 GeV. No evidence for lepton flavour violation is found. Limit

Design of safe timber structures - How can we learn from structural failures in concrete, steel and timber?

During recent years, several spectacular collapses happened in large timber structures and the question is what can be done to prevent future failures. The main hypothesis for this project has been that quality assurance, control systems and improved training may be necessary, since the unwanted events are primarily related to human errors. A survey of failures in 127 timber structures has been ma
