Evaporative resistance measurements on a new solution of foot orthosis

The traditional orthosis are tight and allow minimal evaporation. A new prototype was designed. The thermal foot model tests were carried out at isothermal (Ts=Ta=34 °C) and non-isothermal (Ta=23 °C) conditions with relative humidity set to 17 and 41 %, respectively, and at air velocities of 0.25 (LVa) and 0.85 m/s (HVa). Robust automatic tuning of an industrial PI controller for dead-time systems

This paper describes an automatic tuning procedure for dead-time compensating controllers. A first order plus dead time model is identified from two step response experiments. The identification is based on the methods of moments. The model uncertainty is estimated automatically and used in the design to obtain a robust controller.
