The effect of external pressure on intramuscular blood flow at rest and after running

Local blood flow in the thigh was measured with 133Xe clearance technique in eight male distance runners after compression with a foam rubber compress and a standard elastic bandage. Two degrees of compression were tested, and an initial experiment with rested subjects was followed by a similar experiment immediately after running. Maximum compression exerted a cutaneous pressure of 85 (+/- 8) mm

Physical Bounds for Antennas Above a Ground Plane

Physical limitations of antennas above infinite perfect electric conductor (PEC) ground planes are determined using the stored electromagnetic energy. Stored energies are computed with the method of moments (MoM) and the image theory. Convex optimization is used to derive the G/Q ratio and Q-factor for a reference geometry and the results are compared for different antenna types.

Calculation of antenna radiation center using angular momentum

An algorithm to compute the Radiation Center of an antenna based on the Spherical Wave Expansion is introduced. The method is based on the angular momentum vector that is uniquely defined for any antenna far field pattern. The radiation center is defined as the phase reference point where the angular momentum is minimized and corresponds to minimizing the phase variations in the antenna far field

Strategic management - A small pond and six time zones apart: A comparison of face to face and online teaching Sweden and the United States

Anyone who teas taught a course in Strategic Management probably provides the same basic content to students including the infamous SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threat) analysis along with the identification of functional level, business level, and generic strategies to enhance an organization's competitiveness. What might be different in the teaching of strategic management cour
