Growth responses of a green alga to multiple environmental drivers

One feature of global change is that biota must respond not to single, but to multiple environmental drivers. By growing a model photosynthetic microbe in environments containing between one and eight different drivers, including changes in CO 2, temperature, and pH, in different combinations, we show that the number as well as the identities of drivers explain shifts in population growth rates. T

Spatial vision and visually guided behavior in apidae

The family Apidae, which is amongst the largest bee families, are important pollinators globally and have been well studied for their visual adaptations and visually guided behaviors. This review is a synthesis of what is known about their eyes and visual capabilities. There are many species-specific differences, however, the relationship between body size, eye size, resolution, and sensitivity sh

The first record of Odontopleura ovata (Trilobita) from Scandinavia: part of a middle Silurian intercontinental shelly benthos mass occurrence

We report here, for the first time, the occurrence of the trilobite Odontopleura (Odontopleura) ovata Emmrich, 1839 from Scandinavia. The specimens came in light during a study of middle Silurian calcareous mudstone formed in offshore settings of the Baltic Basin (Grotlingbo-1 core, south-eastern Gotland). Intrabasinal correlation shows that the taxon had a brief mass occurrence during the latest
