Vårt syfte med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur ett företag använder sig av etiska riktlinjer för sin verksamhet, samt hur detta påverkar relationerna med externa intressenter. Det framgick av vår undersökning att företagets etik handlar om att ta ansvar. Företaget har olika etiska problem med sina intressenter, men de etiska konflikterna koncentreras klart i relationerna med leverantörerna, då IKEA
Uppsatsen behandlar varumärkesutvidgning från vara till tjänst där tjänsteerbjudandets särdrag antas påverka utvidgningens styrning i jämförelse med en varumärkesutvidgning från vara till vara. Varumärkesutvidgningsforskningen brister eftersom den varken beaktar att eller hur tjänsters särskiljande drag påverkar varumärkesutvidgningsprocessen.
