Lattice Boltzmann Modeling From the Macro- to the Microscale - An Approximation to the Porous Media in Fuel Cells -

Fuel cell (FC) is a device that gives us electrical and thermal energy from the chemical energy present in the fuels involved during the conversion process. The chemical conversion process occurs thanks to the different constitutive layers in the FC, i.e., active layer, anode/cathode support layer, catalyst layer, gas diffusion later and electrolyte. Most of them have the characteristic to allow t

Tone restricts F0 range and variation in Kammu

The aim of this study is to investigate whether the occurrence of lexical tones in a language imposes restrictions on its pitch range. We use data from Kammu, a Mon-Khmer language spoken in Northern Laos, which has one dialect with, and one without, lexical tones. The main finding is that speakers of the tonal dialect have a narrower pitch range, and also a smaller variation in pitch range.

High-performance 15 nm diameter InAs nanowire Ω-gate MOSFETs

In this paper we present 15 nm InAs nanowire lateral MOSFETs with an Ω-gate. The nanowires are grown from size-selected Au-aerosols by means of metal-organic vapor phase epixtaxy (MOVPE). In order to reduce the source and drain resistances, n-type dopants were introduced in the bottom and top parts of the nanowire forming a n-i-n structure. We report experimental data for 15 nm InAs nanowire MOSFE

Film Funding Developments in the EU: Effects of public film support on a small national cinema (invited paper presentation)

In the cinemas of small European nations, infrastructural support systems aimed at endorsing and strengthening audiovisual production, tend to play an increasingly pivotal role. Since additional systems have been added, with the intent to, for instance, encourage co-production or to attract filming and post-production work to assorted places – and always coming with various provisions attached – o
