Role of Temperature, Pressure, and Surface Oxygen Migration in the Initial Atomic Layer Deposition of HfO2on Anatase TiO2(101)
The atomic layer deposition of HfO2on a TiO2(101) surface from tetrakis(dimethylamido)hafnium and water is investigated using a combination of in situ vacuum X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and time-resolved ambient pressure XPS. Precursor pressures and surface temperature are tuned as to map the space state of the deposition. In the initial stages of ALD, a reaction mechanism based on diss
Characteristics and severe outcomes of patients presenting to the Emergency Department with dizziness
Serious outcomes as stroke, arrythmia and death are relatively frequent in patients presenting with dizziness. Within 30 days almost one in five patients re-attended the ED due to dizziness and 2,8% needed ED evaluation due to a fall. Decision support tools to help identify serious conditions and predict preventable falls in ED patients with dizziness are needed.
Uncovering the universality of self-replication in protein aggregation and its link to disease
Fibrillar protein aggregates are a hallmark of a range of human disorders, from prion diseases to dementias, but are also encountered in several functional contexts. Yet, the fundamental links between protein assembly mechanisms and their functional or pathological roles have remained elusive. Here, we analyze the aggregation kinetics of a large set of proteins that self-assemble by a nucleated-gr
Mixed Reality in resuscitation and acute homecare scenarios : a proof of concept study
- Specialist supervision of junior health care providers was feasible via the HoloLens 2- Some clinical procedures could potentially be performed with virtual supervision- Mixed reality has the potential to improve specialist involvement and senior decision making, particularly in out of office hours and in the prehospital setting.- A feasibility study using HoloLens 2 in a clinical setting is a r
Disease Progression in Multiple System Atrophy—Novel Modeling Framework and Predictive Factors
Background: Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a rare and aggressive neurodegenerative disease that typically leads to death 6 to 10 years after symptom onset. The rapid evolution renders it crucial to understand the general disease progression and factors affecting the disease course. Objectives: The aims of this study were to develop a novel disease-progression model to estimate a population-level

Fixed Point Iterations for Finite Sum Monotone Inclusions
This thesis studies two families of methods for finding zeros of finite sums of monotone operators, the first being variance-reduced stochastic gradient (VRSG) methods. This is a large family of algorithms that use random sampling to improve the convergence rate compared to more traditional approaches. We examine the optimal sampling distributions and their interaction with the epoch length. Speci

Using nudges to promote clinical decision making of healthcare professionals : A scoping review
Nudging has been discussed in the context of policy and public health, but not so much within healthcare. This scoping review aimed to assess the empirical evidence on how nudging techniques can be used to affect the behavior of healthcare professionals (HCPs) in clinical settings.A systematic database search was conducted for the period January 2010–December 2020 using the PRISMA extension for ScNudging has been discussed in the context of policy and public health, but not so much within healthcare. Assessing the Impact of Atmospheric CO2 and NO2 Measurements From Space on Estimating City-Scale Fossil Fuel CO2 Emissions in a Data Assimilation System
The European Copernicus programme plans to install a constellation of multiple polar orbiting satellites (Copernicus Anthropogenic CO2 Monitoring Mission, CO2M mission) for observing atmospheric CO2 content with the aim to estimate fossil fuel CO2 emissions. We explore the impact of potential CO2M observations of column-averaged CO2 (XCO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and aerosols in a 200 × 200 km2 d
Best Practices to Promote Data Utility and Reuse by the Non-Traditional Model Organism Community
The dramatic increase in accessibility to sequencing technologies has opened new avenues into studying different processes, cells, and animal models. In the amphibian models used for regeneration research, these new datasets have uncovered a variety of information about what genes define the regenerating limb as well as how genes and cells change over the course of regeneration. The accumulation o

Five propositions on how to combine threat and opportunity management in practice to further develop the project
Risk management in project contexts is increasingly more infocus amongst researchers and practitioners, including the debate on ifand how opportunities can be integrated into the work with threats, or ifseparation is better. In this conceptual paper, integratingseveral strands of literature including risk management, projectmanagement, and organization theory in terms of sensemaking andparadox per
Organizational tensions when managing interorganizational projects : Applying a paradox perspective on large construction projects in Sweden
Over the years, technological developments and societal changes have forced companies to modify their organizing practices. Companies operating in the construction sector are no exception, but due to their project-based structure, it is more difficult to coordinate change initiatives. Indeed, the construction sector is often described as conservative and unwilling to adopt change. However, there i
