HCCI Operation of a Multi-Cylinder Engine
A six-cylinder truck-size engine has been converted for Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) operation. This work demonstrates that it is possible to run a multi-cylinder engine under HCCI operation. The ultra-low NOX characteristic of HCCI is also demonstrated.
