Hyperfine structure in the sequence of sodium S states

The hyperfine structure for the 6, 7 and 8 2 S 1/2 states of 23 Na was measured by optical double-resonance techniques. The states were populated by step-wise excitation using two CW dye lasers. For the dipole interaction constant a, a(6 2 S 1/2 ) = 37.5(2) MHz, a(7 2 S 1/2 )=20.9(1) MHz, a(8 2 S 1/2 )=12.85(10) MHz. were obtained. Theoretical calculations of the hyperfine structure were performed

Five Facets of Mindfulness Questionnaire: Reliability and factor structure: A Swedish version

Two studies were conducted to assess the Swedish version of the Five Facets Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) originally created by Baer et al. (2006). The aim of Study 1 was to examine the psychometric properties of the FFMQ using data from 498 individuals. Quantitative and qualitative analyses resulted in a reduction of the scale by ten items. Psychometric properties, including internal consisten

Shoreline response to detached breakwaters and tidal current : comparison of mumerical and physical models

Shoreline response behind a detached breakwater and at a T-head groin observed in a large-scale physical model was validated with an updated GENESIS model. A new total load longshore sediment transport rate formula, introduced in this paper, was developed and incorporated in GENESIS to address engineering predictive requirements at coastal inlets. The relationship represents the contribution from

Beyond Methodology. The problematic concept of implementing methodology - the case of social welfare evaluation in Sweden

When discussing choice of methodology in evaluation studies, it is wise to reflect upon organizational considerations concerning contracting, conducting and utilization. Based upon research conducted among social workers in Sweden this paper focuses upon possibilities and problems in knowledge dissemination and usage. Powerful institutions in Sweden are now encouraging knowledge development of soc

Scattering Studies of Macromolecules in Solution

The sphere-to-rod transition of nonionic micelles of the PEO-PPO-PEO triblock copolymer P123 and the surfactant C12EO6 was studied using dynamic and static light scattering, small angel X-ray scattering, rheology and calorimetry. The transition temperature was dependent of the C12EO6/P123 molar ratio, which means that a larger content of C12EO6 yields a higher transition temperature. Furthermore,

New U–Pb baddeleyite age, and AMS and paleomagnetic data for dolerites in the Lake Onega region belonging to the 1.98–1.95 Ga regional Pechenga–Onega Large Igneous Province

A new U–Pb baddeleyite age of 1970 ± 3 Ma for the Unoi dolerite sill of the Onega structure of Karelia craton matches other 1.98–1.95 Ga units across the Kola craton (Pechenga) and widely separated parts of the Karelian craton, including the Lake Onega sill area and a extensive NW-trending dolerite dyke swarm. Herein these coeval units are combined into the Pechenga–Onega Large Igneous Province. T

Numerical study of turbulent forced convection in a finned tube with and without CuO nano fluid

Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to carry out a numerical investigation to study forced convection for a tube with fins on the inner and outer surfaces with water as the base fluid and adding particles of CuO to have a nanofluid. Design/methodology/approach - Three geometries are designed by using Solid Works and the number of inside fins is 20 with height 6 mm and thickness 1mm. The number

New constraints on paleoreconstructions through geochronology of mafic dyke swarms in North Atlantic Craton

Förutom dessa processer så anses numera mantelplymer haEarth history is punctuated by a series of events of supercontinent amalgamation and break-up. Fragments of old continents display rifted margins and orogenic sutures that testify their involvement in supercontinent cycles. Periods of break-up are associated with widespread magmatism due to extensional thinning and rifting of the lithosphere and in some instances the arrival of mantle plumes. Mant

Handling a challenging context. : Experiences of facilitating evidence-based elderly care.

Aim: To explore improvement facilitators' experiences of handling their commission to implement evidence-based practice in elderly care for frail older persons. Background: Improvement facilitators were put in place across Sweden in a time-limited project by the government, with one part of the project being to evaluate the model before establishing this facilitation of evidence-based practice in
