Med denna avhandling försöker jag för det första visa vad som karakteriserar den nya kvinnorThe second-wave women's movement emerged in Sweden with Group 8 in 1968, at the height of the anti-war struggle against the US war in Vietnam. A new generation of women took to the streets to demand free abortion, and free childcare, and to campaign against women's low pay and sexual exploitation. This thesis focuses on a number of women's groups? collective action and organising during a politica

Medication errors when transferring elderly patients between primary health care and hospital care

Objective: The aims were to evaluate the frequency and nature of errors in medication when patients are transferred between primary and secondary care. Method: Elderly primary health care patients (> 65 years) living in nursing homes or in their own homes with care provided by the community nursing system, had been admitted to one of two hospitals in southern Sweden, one university hospital and on

A case study of a principally new way of materials kitting - an evaluation of time consumption and physical workload

This article presents a materials kitting case study, using an alternative method for materials killing: the traditional picker-to-material principle was replaced with a material-to-picker approach. The Study was made in a materials supply workshop of an automobile plant shortly after this kitting process had been introduced. The materials kitting was video recorded and the material pickers' physi

Structural and magnetic properties of Fe/ZnSe(001) interfaces

We have performed first-principles electronic structure calculations to investigate the structural and magnetic properties of Fe/ZnSe(001) interfaces. Calculations involving full geometry optimizations have been carried out for a broad range of thickness of Fe layers(0.5-10 ML) on top of a ZnSe(001) substrate. Both Zn- and Se-terminated interfaces have been explored. Total energy calculations show

Control of excitonic and electron-hole processes in wide-gap crystals by means of elastic uniaxial stress

The time-resolved emission spectra and the excitation spectra of the main emissions have been measured for the first time in stressed and unstressed RbI crystals using synchrotron radiation of 10-30 eV at 8 K. It has been shown that the applied elastic uniaxial stress (EUS) offers promise for the separation of the elementary multiplication mechanisms of electronic excitations. A different influenc

Determination of fat content and fatty acid composition in meat and meat products after supercritical fluid extraction

Two different relatively simple, commercially available supercritical fluid extractors (SFE), Leco and Foss-Tecator, were tested for the determination of total fat content in meat and meat products. The fatty acid composition in meat and meat products was also determined after the Foss-Tecator extraction in an aliquot of the extract. Total fat was determined by weighing after the different extract

Process Development of Bioethanol Production from Wheat and Barley Residues Steam Pretreatment and SSF

Bioethanol has received increasing attention as an alternative to petrol due to the current dependency on supplies from other countries and due to the increased concentration of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In this thesis, the development of 2nd generation production processes for bioethanol production from the lignocellulosic part of biomass is discussed. The conversion of

SiGe Esaki tunnel diodes fabricated by UHV-CVD growth and proximity rapid thermal diffusion

A process for realisation of SiGe Esaki diodes in layers grown by ultra-high vacuum chemical vapour deposition has been developed and the first Esaki diodes are reported for this growth method. Intrinsic SiGe-layers are grown on highly boron-doped p(+)-Si layers, while post-growth proximity rapid thermal diffusion of phosphorous into the SiGe is employed to form an n(+)-layer. Tunnel diodes with a

Aspects in Context

The review highlights the new sources for the understanding of the shifting factors that have shaped the establishment and further development of the psychology of religion internationally.

Prolonged labour associated with lower expression of syndecan 3 and connexin 43 in human uterine tissue

Background: Prolonged labour is associated with greater morbidity and mortality for mother and child. Connexin 43 is a major myometrial gap junction protein found in human myometrium. Syndecan 3 seems to prevail in the human uterus among heparan sulphate proteoglycans, showing the most significant increase during labour. The aims of the present study were to investigate syndecan 3 and connexin 43

AVHRR NDVI for monitoring and mapping of vegetation and drought in East African environments

Popular Abstract in Swedish Data från AVHRR-sensorn ombord på NOAA satelliten används operationellt för att övervaka vegetation och torka i global och regional skala. Ett vegetationsindex (NDVI) används som en indikator på grön växtbiomassa. Analys av AVHRR NDVI-data över Östafrika pekar på att det finns ett starkt samband mellan den ytmässiga fördelingen av vegetation och NDVI i arida och semi-aIn this thesis, an assessment is made of the performance of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) derived from coarse resolution data from the NOAA AVHRR sensor, with particular reference to mapping and monitoring of drought and vegetation in East African vegetation and climatic conditions. Methods for analysing time series of satellite data are investigated. By studying the empirical

Using choice experiments to assess people's preferences for railway transports of hazardous materials

This article investigates whether the choice experiment approach can be used to assess people's preferences and the determinants of these preferences in order to estimate the costs and benefits of different configurations of the transport of hazardous materials by rail. Changes in the exposure to hazardous materials that people are subjected to are used rather than changes in accident risk. To the

The derivative nonlinear Schrodinger equation in analytic classes

The derivative nonlinear Schrodinger equation is shown to be locally well-posed in a class of functions analytic on a strip around the real axis. The main feature of the result is that the width of the strip does not shrink in time. To overcome the derivative loss, Kato-type smoothing results and space-time estimates are used.
