The paper presents a study of the dynamics of non-stationary shock wave and its interaction with the boundary layer in a transonic flow inside a channel with a bump. The turbulent flow is handled using Large Eddy Simulations (LES). The computations are done with the recently developed multidimensional upwind scheme and with two other commercial codes. The aim is to improve the understanding of the

We are constantly reminded of the problem of evil. There are a number of models to cope with theodicy, but the problem with most of them is that, in different ways, they tend to legitimate evil and accuse the victims. In this article it is suggested that theodicy may serve as a hermeneutical key when reading often marginalised or misunderstood text belonging to the Jewish and Christian traditions.

A current aim in research on moral cognition is the development of computational models of moral choices and judgements. We fit diffusion models with and without dependence on visual fixations to data on binary moral choices. We find that a fixation dependent model provides a better fit and can capture many features of the empirical data. We discuss the implications for understanding moral cogniti

Wastewater treatment is a worldwide necessity that is even more crucial to countries deprived from abundant fresh water sources or unable to afford advanced and costly processes. With this perspective, this thesis was conducted within an Egyptian-Swedish research collaboration that aimed to develop solar-based (as free renewable energy source available locally) process for hazardous wastewater tre

The present work involves a microcalorimetric characterization of the interactions among macrocyclic compounds and aliphatic molecules in aqueous solution. The macrocyclic compounds used in the study are a-,b- and g-cyclodextrin and 25,26,27,28-tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene-5,11,17,23- tetrasulphonate. The results include enthalpies, entropies, standard Gibb's energies and heat capacities of the inter

Dock, om man betänker att kristendomen ursprungligen var en del av det första århundradets judendom så är det egThis book attempts to answer the question of how it is possible that Christianity in the beginning of the second century C.E. had developed into a non-Jewish, Gentile religion. Since Christianity was originally one of many Jewish factions within the diversified Judaism of the period, and one that even primarily seems to have directed its attention to the people of Israel, the problem of its separa

This paper is part of a conceptual study of a multiuser OFDM system. In previous reports we have examined requirements for the air interface and presented uncoded performance (in terms of bit error rate) for the uplink of such systems. In this report we adopt the user allocation structure from the previous parts of the study and examine the role of channel coding. We present performance simulation

Requirements Engineering and Testing are considered inseparable and together enable successful projects. One could make a statement that serious negligence of any of the two will bring catastrophic consequences for the project, delays, failures and unhappy customers. Thus, alignment and cooperation between the two are not only recommended but highly required for contemporary complex software and s
