I am Pro Futura Scientia XVI Fellow and Associate Senior Lecturer in New Testament Studies at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study and the Centre for Theology and Religious Studies in Lund.

I am a scholar of Jewish and Christian antiquity whose research and teaching span the fields of New Testament studies, classical archaeology, rabbinics, patristics, and the early history of Jewish –Christian relations. In 2018, I completed my PhD in New Testament at the University of Oslo. My dissertation, now published as John within Judaism (Brill, 2022), investigated the Gospel of John as part of the ideologically congested world of early Judaism. Since 2018 I have been deeply engaged in research related to the history and archaeology of ancient synagogues and early Jewish – Christian relations from the time of Jesus to the Byzantine–Islamic transition in the 7th century. My forthcoming monograph on Jews and Christians in ancient Capernaum (Fortress Press, 2024) brings these fields together.
