Person

born in 1965. In 2009 I was appointed the first Krister Stendahl Professor of Theology of Religions at the Centre for Theology and Religious Studies at Lund University and the Swedish Theological Institute in Jerusalem. After undergraduate studies in Religious Studies at Lund University, I studied for two semesters in Jerusalem (Swedish Theological Institute and Hebrew University) and commenced my doctoral studies. In 2000 I defended my doctoral thesis which explored early Jewish-Christian relations. In Theology of Religions we study the relationships between various religions traditions. How do, e.g., Jews, Christians and Muslims look upon each other? How has it been in history, how is it now -- and how can it be improved in the future? In my work, I commute between Lund and Jerusalem as I am responsible for all the academic courses at the Swedish Theological Institute. I am the President of the Vetenskapssocieteten, one of the three learned societies in Lund.

Research

About the research

After my doctoral dissertation "Mark and Mission: Mk 7:1-23 in Its Narrative and Historical Contexts" (2000), I have written several books on narrative and interreligious aspects of the Bible and also the Gospel of Thomas. I am currently writing a book in English in how Christological reflection is influenced by science and other religious traditions.
